MAKE IT HAPPEN! — Monday Status Report:
√ wk 3–> Flower Power leaded [link to be added]
x wk 2 –> Glass cutting/leading Flower Power
√ wk 1 –> Paint Bedroom Shutter Sliders — project #30 Elegant Blue Wonders
Since I am an expert procrastinator, I am participating in Kristi’s Make It Happen! Monday, at Addicted2Decorating. We are attempting to finish one of those ‘hanging-around-never-done’ projects by commiting to it here — keyword ‘attempting‘.
After meeting my target the first week, I quite ambitiously comitted to finishing my current stained glass commission, Flower Power, for the second week.
This is what I had done [left] before & I did get a little section cut & leaded. I did get all the flowers leaded & set in place but . . .
Oops, left with a number of weird spots to fill in, I simply didn’t get it all done — so it was still on my plate for this week.
Of course, since cutting straight lines is a lot quicker, I did detour a little with valances for the big living room windows:
The empty valance awaits photos — but, um, ran out of matte photo paper for the printer. Next week. 😉
So, it is on the list for next week — a simple job to print 4 photos.
But hey, let’s get to the good news!
All done except for one small area that’ll have to wait for Tuesday — it’s almost midnight & I need to post!
With the cutting & leading so very close to being finished this week, I am officially calling this baby done [as far Make It Happen Monday is concerned].
Of course, I still need about ½ hr. to fit in the last piece [or 2], maybe ½ hr. to solder the joints, & about 1 hr. to putty & clean — again, a simple job comparatively. I will add the link when I post the story.
Congratulations to everyone who met their target. 😆
Next Project
The simpliest project for this week will be printing the photos for the bare valance:
Left valance–‘my’ side–installed with glass sections in place, awaits my photos. Yes, a little putty job & a paint touchup is needed too. 😐
The main project this week will be to clean almost everything out of the porch:
This skinny porch holds a lot of stuff — mega coats, a bulky coat rack, dog pillows, a wicker bench filled with books & fabric, the cat’s ladder, an old rocking chair, & assorted junk that gets stored here because there is absolutely no more room in the house!
I’m not committing more for this week but plans for the porch include a much skinnier bench, vacuum storage cupboard, plenty more storage, coat hooks with shelves, & of course, paint.
Yes, AGAIN I just barely got this post done on MONDAY! Talk about procrastination, eh? 😦
Check back next Monday [July 2nd] to see how I do at Making It Happen.
