Continual Closet Change [Project 3]

What do you get when you take a measuring ‘mistake’ & apply some creativity to the original design?

A gorgeous framed glass door that’s so much better than a fabric cube!!

I really like the lion head ring in copper as the door handle — “borrowed” from my kitchen cabinets that were missing handles.

Speaking of those budget-friendly [$7] Martha Stewart fabric cubes from Home Depot — with the whole tower of turquoise ones not quite matching my blue walls, I decided to add another colour.

Other than pink, purple, or an ugly green, my only other choices were black or brown.  Black seemed the natural choice since other accents in my room are in that colour — but I really thought the dark brown would go better with the glass colours.

I absolutely love how this new door ties together with the stained glass door in the tall unit — the opaque gold/white/brown glass is the same as the petals in the upper flower.  Amazing how much better the whole closet looks.

The revised-original plan was to make another 2-shelf unit to place on the left side of the high tower.  But my carpenter expressed the wish to do ‘something different’ — he’d like to make a 4-unit square for the left side.

I should be okay with enough glass to make 2 more small doors but will need to get another lion ring [have to pick up a couple to replace in the kitchen anyway] & another fabric cube.  Hmmm, but what colour?

So, onto the final project to finish my closet organization!
